No Picture on the Screen
The computer is on, the screen is not. Let us find out why.
Fans spinning and lights on, but nothing to see. It is a common fault with a short list of causes, and most are quick to put right.
Safe checks to try first
- Check the monitor is on and its cable is firmly in at both ends
- Try another cable, or another screen or TV
- On a laptop, turn the brightness up and shine a torch at the screen
- Listen for beeps at start-up and count them
Stop if you smell burning, hear clicking from the drive, or the computer has been wet. Switch it off and call 020 7237 6805.
